As part of efforts to support African football, leading mobile phone manufacturer, Samsung has unveiled its 'I See Your Dream' campaign.

This is aimed at helping the youth in pursuing soccer in Africa during the ongoing Orange African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Equatorial Guinea.

As part of the campaign, Samsung hosted aspiring footballers from the Kotobabi 3&4 cluster of schools at the Lizzy's Sports Complex in Accra.

The camp will allow young soccer enthusiasts to receive training from professional football coaches who will take the students through their paces as they find out first-hand what it takes to compete at the international level.

The boys were mentored in skills development and interactive training with football legend, Yaw Preko.

He shared his experiences as a former Black Stars player and encouraged the players to remain resilient if they are to achieve their dreams in life.

Yaw Preko, who is also a Samsung brand Ambassador gave an account of his rise in football, recalling how he played barefoot on the Kotobabi Park but never gave up until he became one of the most renowned footballers in Ghana.

“Our greatest passion in Africa is Football and the Dream camp gives young footballers the opportunity to go after their dreams. The Samsung 'I See Your Dreams' Dream camp has inspired Ghana to create tomorrow's legends and support the football talent” he stated.

Yaw Preko urged the young footballers to be disciplined, time conscious and make God the cornerstone in everything they do.

For his part, Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Samsung, George Ferreira said the 'I See Your Dream' campaign is part of their corporate social responsibility to groom young talents in Accra.

“We see this as an opportunity to foster the spirit of professionalism and nurture the love of soccer in the youth” he added.

George Ferreira pledged his company's commitment to supporting youth football and advised the players to take advantage of the opportunity offered them.

“It isn't often that students get the opportunity to receive training from professional coaches and meet professionals who have played on the global stage. As we reach the final stages of the campaign we focus on sustainability and growing the talent through Dream Camp”.
