God Made Men And Women Equal But With Different Designs Because Of His Purpose For The Earth—Rev Chris Baah Nartey

Thursday December 4, 2014, Odumase-Krobo: The Reverend Minister of the Hebron Presbyterian Church , Nuaso, OdumaSe-Krobo, Rev Chris Baah Nartey, has urged women not to see themselves as inferior and second-class citizens in society because “God has made men and women equal, but designed them differently because of his purpose for the earth.

The young, charismatic and energetic pastor gave the advise on Friday evening when he was preaching on the first day of a 3-day Women empowerment summit dubbed “The purpose and Power of Woman” at the Hebron Presbyterian Church at Nuaso, Odumase-Krobo.

Quoting a verse in the bible (Isaiah 14:24), he said God is a God of purpose, and everything God created is for a purpose. He therefore stated that “the reason why a woman has a different shape than a man is because the purpose God has for woman is different from that of man, which includes carrying a baby in the womb and also looking cute and pretty. The purpose of something determines its design, and the design determines its need”.

Rev Chris Baah Nartey, who is married with three kids, has strongly debunked as untrue all the traditional perceptions about women that they are inferior and second class citizens to men, domestic slaves to be used as designed, objects of sexual gratification alone, lack intelligence and have nothing to offer to society, and a woman's place is the kitchen.

He said all these are perceptions and opinions of humans and not that of God, and has charged all women not to let people's opinions of them become their reality. “The problem in our society is that most people have unfortunately obtained their identities from men rather than God. Child of God, don't let people's opinions of you become your reality. In the mind of God, you are the best. Nobody knows the function and value of something better than its maker”, he added.

A participant of the program; Esther Azu Maseyo, described the program as a blessing to her, because the message has helped her to “shake off the weights of intimidations and inferiority complex in her life, and has educated her not to allow a fellow human to determine her fate”.

The Director of Womern and Children's Affairs of Kloma Hengme, a Krobo advocacy and heritage association; Mrs Rama Kuma Ayanu, said the Association is pleased with the leadership of the Hebron Presbyterian Church and Rev Chris Baah Nartey for coming out with a great program like this to empower all women including her Krobo women.

She said “If Ghana and for that matter Kroboland will develop, issues and concerns of women must be made a priority since we women are the majority”. She has therefore called for more of such women empowerment summits across the length and breadth of the country, especially in Kroboland the benefit of more women.
