A thanksgiving service has been held at Appolonia St. Stevens Methodist Church near Dodowa to mark the installation of a new chief.

The chief, Nii Nuetey Amobi II, known in private life as Nathaniel Narteh Tetteh, succeeds Nii Tei Adumuah II, who passed on a few months ago.

The service was conducted by Timothy Mensah, Assemblyman for the area.

In his sermon, he called on the people of the town to bury their differences and rally behind the newly-gazetted chief to bring about development.

According to him, there was the need for the youth of the area to support the new chief to seek ways of creating jobs for them.

Nii Amobi II thanked the people of the area for their support and pledged to do all he could to bring development to the place.

He said education was his priority and that since most teachers were reluctant to be posted to the town, he would work towards putting up a place to house teachers and to ensure that all children in the area had access to education.
