Phillips AVENT, a company specialised in the manufacture of baby bottles, breast pumps, soothers and other baby feeding accessories, in September launched the competition to commemorate its 30 th anniversary celebrations in Accra.

To participate in the competition, parents were expected to send a recent photograph of their babies between the ages of 0-18 months to Whatsapp number (0501 294 804), Facebook (Phillips AVENT) and or email ( [email protected] ).

Parents were also to fill entry forms at the various Phillip AVENT outlets across the country including full name of the baby, place and date of birth and a description of the baby in 30 words indicating why the said baby should be selected as baby of the year.

Speaking at the ceremony to award the winners, General Manager for Phillips Lighting, Felix Darko, said “we at Phillips AVENT are proud to celebrate this milestone with our cherished consumers here in Ghana”.

He said for 30-years the company together with its experts and professionals have developed a series of 'first' products “allowing us to share your most precious moments as parents” and that it was only fitting to bring the celebration here where our products are very popular.

Mr Darko disclosed that the competition is “here to stay as it was a success and allowed us to actively engage with our consumers. We promise Ghanaians that the competition will be even more exciting next year”.

Mother of Zoe, Ivy Kendra could not help but be excited when her daughter was named winner of the competition and thanked organisers for giving her the opportunity to be part of it.

Paulina Adiku, who is Ariel's mother, said she wished her son was the winner but was nonetheless excited at the opportunity given her son to be part of the exciting journey.

The finalists and the winner were all awarded great prizes including photo-shoot with a leading photographer and a hamper from Phillips AVENT products, as well as Phillips items for parents.

The winner will become the face of the campaign in 2015.
