From Pixel to Corporate Leadership

The word pixel is quite famous these days. Some of the electronic gadgets are sold these days by using 'pixel' as one of the USP's. Especially the people who use camera and fond of digital designing, photography and allied arts will know the meaning and importance of pixel.

I was interacting with a group of 'nature' photographers a fortnight ago and decided to use their familiar 'term' the pixel to convey a management message to them as they had gathered for a corporate leadership programme.

Pixel is nothing but the 'small dots that together forms the picture on a television screen, camera, computer monitor' etc. These dots are otherwise called as picture elements that make up a picture on visual display unit.

If a camera has 6 or 12 pixel means, the number of picture elements in the image is more for the image obtained with camera with 12 pixels and hence the image would be clearer than that of 6 pixel camera image. The difference would be significant not when we see the image, but when the image is enlarged or stretched to make it large.

The corporate growth and success also comes only when the people work together giving an image to the corporate vision. Each individual employee act as pixel unit and they together with others only gives right image to the business goal of the corporate.

The corporate can easily expands its activity, scale up its operation and profit, only if the employees work as single unit not as separate individuals. The ability of employees to go beyond the brief and stretch willingly will also happen only when the corporate follows such culture. The employees of any corporate together only can offer fullness to the business image of the corporate and its culture.

The HR must therefore inculcate the right culture and value system in corporate in order to achieve the right connectivity and unity among different employees and they must individually and collectively work towards the growth and development of the organization.

Integration and interdependence of people at work level is must for the success of every corporate. Therefore the bosses and leaders must remember the above and respect and value every employee and must involve them sincerely in organization building process. Problems of the employees are mostly due to their bosses. Some employees become utterly selfish and are uninterested in corporate goal mostly due to their selfish bosses who often play the game of chess with their subordinates.

Remember, even the meaning of the word 'pixel' also can give you a great management insight if you are willing to learn.
