Japan Motors Trading Company Limited is inviting all customers to undertake a test drive for the all new Nissan Qashqai Crossover.

The durable crossover, dubbed second generation, builds on the successes of the first-generation cross-over introduced to the Ghanaian market about seven years ago by Nissan.

The world-renowned automobile manufacturer, in 2007, released its pioneer crossover compact to a staggering two million patrons globally.

This, however, was soon imitated by rival manufacturers, thereby compromising the celebrated quality and safety of the original and prompted the introduction of the latest Qashqai.

Accredited to distribute the car in the country, officials of Japan Motors told the media in an interview that they have taken delivery of their consignment of the all-new cross-over and customers can come and have a peek at them in the showrooms across the country and book a test drive.

Elaborating on its key features, Imad Antoine Ghorayeb, General Manager, Sales and Marketing at Japan Motors emphasized on safety and inner space as much as the sleekness of the new crossover that makes its the toast of global patrons.

“The all-new Nissan Qashqai is a high-technology machine not as long as the old, which is fractionally lower and wider,” he said, indicating that despite its superior sleekness and poise the trademark crossover style of Nissan is maintained with compact dimensions and raised driving position.”

He observed that the new model builds on the strong visual DNA of Qashqai, including a clamshell-style bonnet.

“Versatility also remains a core crossover attribute because Nissan has devised innovative ways that deliver not only greater occupant space, but also a larger luggage capacity,” he said.

Touching on the engine and transmission, Mr. Ghorayeb disclosed that the new model runs on a 2.0-litre direct injection petrol engine produced at the Nissan Sunderland plant in England, enhancing efficiency via “an extensive mass reduction programme that results in 40kg weight loss on some models despite the extensive addition of new equipment.”

“Furthermore, XTRONIC CVT has been specifically enhanced for the new Nissan Qashqai by defying conventional CVT principles to create a more natural driving sensation with stepped changes to mimic conventional multi-ratio automatic gearboxes during hard acceleration.

Under smoother acceleration, the ratios are subtly adjusted for ultimate smoothness,' he added.
