Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur has assured the manufacturing companies in the country, the current energy challenges will be over soon.

According to him, government is investing heavily in the energy sector and the economy as a whole, to reduce the cost of production for these companies.

His comments come on the back of the worsening energy situation in the country which has compelled the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to shed power.

The  Association of Ghana Industry (AGI)  and the Private Enterprise Federation (PEF) have complained about how companies in industry are folding up because they cannot cope with the rising cost of power.

Vice President Amissah-Arthur is hopeful with the restructuring of the economy and the needed private sector investment the current crises will soon be a thing of the past.

'We need to continually assure the local manufacturers that despite the problems that we face in manufacturing operations especially currently with Electricity supplies, government will continue to provide support to manufacturing companies that are operating  in our country. We are making critical investments in energy and infrastructure through economic restructuring and reordering of our spending priorities in order to free resources to enable us invest further in infrastructure,' the Vice President stated,

He also expressed the hope that 'Ghanaians will be able to encourage the private sector to increase their participation in the economy.'

Ghana has been battling with inconsistent power supply for sometime now.

The situation compelled the  Electricity Company of Ghana(ECG)   to release the load shedding time table to assist the general public to plan their daily activities accordingly.
