First Atlantic Bank on Thursday opened a branch at Abossey-Okai in Accra to serve existing and prospective customers.

Daniel W. Addo, Executive Director, First Atlantic Bank Limited, in a speech, said this brings to four the number of branches launched this year, with at least three more to be added before the end of 2014.

He said the bank has commenced a number of initiatives to broaden product offerings by adding retail and consumer banking products such as prepaid and debit cards, internet banking, savings accounts and remittance products.

First Atlantic Bank began nearly 20 years ago with a focus on merchant banking.

However, with the receipt of a universal banking license and a change in corporate identity, the bank is delivering universal banking to customers.

'First Atlantic Bank has indeed partnered with six International remittance service providers – Money Gram, Western Union, Ria, Small World, Transfast and Money Exchange so as to provide the Ghanaian Diaspora with options to send money back home to family and friends and for the purpose of investment.

'At First Atlantic Bank, we have set broad objectives to create an institution that competes effectively in the local and sub-regional financial market place in a manner that showcases the best of our collective talents.'

Mr Addo stated that facilitating international trade and promoting trade within and between African countries also features strongly on the bank's agenda.

'For the many businesses at Abossey Okai, you are the reason for which we are here. We are prepared to partner with you, support you with LC's, transfers, payments and collections as well as e-banking solutions (Visa prepaid and debit cards, Mastercard, Internet banking, Mobile banking and SMS Alerts). For those of you involved in manufacturing, we will help facilitate the movement of your goods and services across the sub-region.'

The bank has received the Best Bank in Customer Care at the Annual Banking Awards on three occasions.

Gabriel Edgal, Managing Director of First Atlantic Bank Limited, in a remark, called on residents of Abossey Okai to patronise the services of his outfit for a memorably rewarding banking experience.
