The Regent and an Elder of Appolonia in the Kpone Traditional Area, Nii Tettey Iddrissu Mansro is appealing to the Minister of Chieftaincy and Culture, Dr. Henry Siedu Daanaa, to as a matter of urgency send a substantive registrar to the Kpone Tradiditional Council as the current Registrar, Harry Attipoe is busy with activities at both the Kpone Traditional Council and the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs.

Speaking in an interview with the media soon after a frustrated attempt to file a writ of summons with the Traditional Council, the Regent, Nii Tettey Iddrissu Mansro said it is about time Mr Attipoe is replaced as his dual role is affecting justice delivery in the area.

“I have just come here to file a writ of summons and the Assistant Registrar Mrs. Okpoti Yeboah is telling me her boss Mr Attipoe has directed her not to receive any writ of summons in his absence” so here we are , meaning in the absence of the substantive Registrar we cant file our writ of summons? just look at this”

“The fact is one man can not occupy two positions at the same time. The Registrar of a traditional Council plays a critical role in ensuring the effective day to day administration of the Council and registers all legal suits filed accordingly by aggrieved persons, Nii Iddrissu stressed”.

He is however calling on the Chieftaincy minister to send a substantive Registrar to the Area, this he believes will fast track issues of this nature when they arise.

Nii Mansro said an earlier writ was filed with his elders but had some errors which were dismissed on grounds of technicalities by the Traditional Council hearing last week.

Adding that per the Chieftaincy act the petitioners have seven clear days for stay of execution to re file the case but their efforts seems to be frustrated by the registrar who seemed to have a heavy schedule.

Reacting to the allegations, Mr Attipo admitted occupying two positions as the Registrar for both the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs and the Kpone Traditional House of Chiefs but was quick to add that,he was duly appointed by the Chieftaincy Minister to occupy the Office of the Regional House of Chiefs with oversight responsibility at the Kpone Traditional House of Chiefs.

On the allegations of deliberately frustrating the Regent and his elders from filing the writ of summons, Mr Attipoe said he will receive the summons before Friday as he was busy preparing for an upcoming chieftaincy event at Shai-Osudoku.

Regent of Appolonia, Nii Tettey Iddrisu is filling a writ of summons purportedly challenging what he described as the illegal enstoolment of a linguist son as Chief of Appolonia. According to Him under no circumstances can a linguist son ascend the high throne of Chief of Appolonia stressing that it's not part of their custom.

He said this illegality must be condemned in no uncertain terms by the National House of Chiefs as it has the tendency of breaching the peace in the area.

He said there are three ruling Clans in Appolonia namely, Bediako Clan, Sanshi/Sacky Clan, and Kojo Clan and the linguist does not hail from any of the ruling Clans.

“How can he, a linguist son become a chief? He quizzed.
