The Daily Graphic reporter who was assaulted in Kumasi two weeks ago by a brother of Asamoah Gyan says he is no longer interested in pursuing the case.

Daniel Kenu's lawyers told the court Friday they have been asked by their clients to withdrawn the case entirely.

It is unclear if the journalist has opted for an out of case settlement. But his lawyers told the court that the journalist cited family and health concerns as reasons for his decision not to seek justice.

At a press conference organised by the Ghana Football Association two weeks ago the Daily Graphic correspondent wanted confirmation to allegations that Asamoah Gyan had “sacrificed” his friend and popular musician Castro when they went for holiday at Ada.

Baffour Gyan, the elder brother of Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan, reportedly led an assault on Kenu.

Baffuor turned himself in after the police declared him wanted over his alleged involvement in the incident.

Public Relations Officer of the Ashanti Regional Command, ASP Tanko Ibrahim said the former Black Stars player has written a caution statement and will assist with investigations.

Daniel Kenu's lawyers said their client told them rise in his blood pressure due to the trauma he suffered after the attack, the death of a brother in the Eastern Region are among reasons for his change of mind.
