General News 2 Young Ghanaians Develop App For The Telecom Industry
SEP 17, 2014 LISTEN

Two young Ghanaians have developed a web application called Promolante.com that helps telecom subscribers easily find new promotions and services as well as review existing services that telcos in Ghana offer.

The two, Abdul-Rahim Sulemana who is a graduate of the University of Cape Coast and the team lead and Jesse Dela Adziakpor a graduate of the Methodist University College believe their app will empower the Ghanaian phone user.

“We want to make it very easy for Ghanaians to find and decide on which promotions or services they should be subscribed to by relying on the reviews of people already subscribed to these services. By so doing telecom subscribers will be forcing the telcos to offer competitive and better services" said Abdul-Rahim.

"Promolante.com is also giving the telcos an opportunity to show the Ghanaian phone user that their services are the best and people already on their services are actually enjoying them" he added.

The idea which was conceived because the team lead encountered difficulty in keeping track of all the services three of the telcos he was subscribed to were offering seems to be a solution to a problem many Ghanaians who use more than a phone with different networks face.

The team says so far they have received overwhelming endorsements from the people who are using it and have taken feedback from them to be worked on. Their app recently got a feature in one of the tech blogs in Kenya.

Promolante.com is one of the few web applications targeted at making the daily use of telco services in Ghana easy.
