Kumasi, July 14, GNA - An illegal miner accused of causing harm has been remanded into prison custody by a Kumasi Circuit Court, presided over by Mr D.W.P Amedior.

Isaac Boakye alias Mystical, 21, is said to have injured his uncle, Kwadwo Antwi, in the eye, following a misunderstanding that ensued between them.

He pleaded not guilty to the offence and would make his next appearance on Monday, July 28.

Superintendant of Police Regina Addo-Yobo said the incident happened on June 28, at about 1740 hours, at Pakyi-Number One, in the Amansie West District.

The two had met at a drinking bar and an argument ensued between them. Boakye drew a knife and drove it into the right eye of the victim during the argument.

Eye witnesses attracted to the scene, rushed Antwi to the Dominase SDA Hospital, where he was kept on admission and later discharged.

The prosecution told the court that the accused had a record of hurting people at the least provocation, and had at different times, harmed four persons.
