Accra, May 21, GNA - The Ghana Police Service Administration has interdicted Police Constable Thomas Addai of the Very Important People Protection Unit (VIPPU) and put him before court for alleged murder.
A statement issued in Accra on Friday and signed by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) David S. Eklu, Director of Public Relations, said Constable Addai was alleged to have shot and killed one Samuel Sumani of Madina last month. It said Constable Addai, who was put before an Osu District Magistrate's Court was remanded into Police custody to reappear on May 25.
The statement said: "The Police Administration will like to assure the public that it will not shield any member of the Service, whose actions contravened the laws of the land".
