Stopping The Becca & Jacky Appiah Nonsense

Stopping The Becca Jacky Appiah Nonsense

Of all the celebrity ambassadors none has suffered so many backlashes than the two pretty women whose only offense was to respond to a call to serve the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the just ended road to Brazil.

With these signs written on the wall prior to the ambassadors leaving the country, it was expected that their call up will suffer even more damning stories, as if they are not Ghanaians and not worth their call to serve.

To drive straight to the point, I read tweets, re-posts on social media and most recently, the news of a diminutive unkempt host of a TV Show on UTV, one of the media outlets of the Despite Group of Companies owned by Dr. Osei Kwame Despite, Valerie Nana Agyeiwaa, who fell out with Delay on her TV series, Afia Schwarzenegger.

This lady who seems to have carved a niche for herself for been uncouth took her last series on to another level, which needs to be checked by the National Media Commission. She worsened the rumour mill with her uncharitable comments as she has done to most celebrities and even the President, by emphatically making untruthful statements so damning and smirks idiocy of two of the lady ambassadors taken to Brazil.

Studying trends on social media, the first post of this bizarre news came immediately after the young Ghanaian Ambassador, Becca, performed in Brazil, which was with many other artistes who had been selected from Ghana.

After her show, tweets about the sexy songstress and how gorgeous she looked took on to the timelines of many, she had danced to the rhythms in a way Angelique Kudjoe, or Alicia keys will do in most of their performances anywhere in the world.

Her followers increased that night when video of her performance went viral on twitter and had fans all over the world seeing the talent.

Some unscrupulous boys with some followers on twitter jumped on it and started with stories to the effect that she was in going to bed with some footballers when they decided to let what they saw tickle their fancy. First to be tagged to Becca was, Fatau Dauda, when that was not holding, it shifted to Dede Ayew and then finally to Agyeman Badu, knowing he was a friend of the artist.

This did not end there as some tabloid sites like omgghana.com picked up the story as news 'trending on social media.' That began to give the story prominence on social media and subsequently that of UTV.

As if that was not enough, when government dramatically, airlifted some dollars over to Brasilia, there was a swift shift in the deliberate attempt to destroy the reputation of the lady by adding another stale bit, that she had been offered some 20,000 to 25,000 dollars by the minister of Youth and Sports with another female actress for sex.

What is true is that, the young lady was in Brazil with a team of ambassadors whose selection and that of other stars, came under serious criticisms just because others in the industry who thought they should have been selected were not picked.

I say this because, discussions prior to their trip to Brazil on media platforms including Peace FM's Entertainment Review clearly showed various groups in the entertainment industry felt they should have been called up.

If anything, the verification of these stories should be so easy; they have got videos, they have watched steamy videos, and they should show it for the world to see as the architects of these stories claim.

Many including a member of the New Patriotic Party, Newton -Offei Justice Abeeku, for political reasons jumped on this on Facebook to state boorishly to their followers that, they have seen videos of a bizarre act of sex by two female ambassadors with Elvis Afriyie Ankrah and a promise by whoever gave him the news, a second part of the earlier video he watched of immoral acts in Brazil by our ambassadors.

What I do know is three lady ambassadors were taken to Brazil, and these two have been under deliberate attack, as if to say, the women are so cheap and poor there were sent to warm the beds of footballers and managers of the Football Association.

Franklin Cudjoe of IMANI Ghana also jumped on a feed originally posted by another to make his argument or debate on the social platform.

These stories remained social media feeds except for the said disgruntled lady on UTV, who added among many wild claims that Becca was given 1000 dollars by Agyeman Badu for sex. The very lady said in a breadth to have been paid by the government over 25,000 dollars just for some reasons is reduced to 1000 dollar sex.

The deliberate attack on these two mature women is for me, sexist, and only garnished to get people against them.

Two strong voices, Ameyaw Debrah and Michael Oti Adjei who followed the Blackstars, witnessed and updated all on what happened in the camp, have come out to debunk these stories when they were asked as to whether these ladies were actually seen anywhere close to the players.

The true story is these ladies were always in the group they went with in Brazil, their managers, and minding their own businesses and in no where or circumstance were they with any player or any picture of these two ambassadors with any football player.

Under no circumstance did they get into a player's room or a player getting into their rooms.

Those making the noises in Ghana, who are not affected by what these two ladies use their bodies for should keep quiet and mind their poor lives than to worry their heads over useless issues.

If anyone is so worried about what and where their taxes go to, they should channel their problems through their political heads but if they can not create pictures and videos they talk about, they should lock their mouths and stop the consistent path of writing names of individuals who chase their dreams in mud whiles they struggle .

Or is it a point that, some people primitively think when three ladies selected by government are to work with a group of men then they sleeping together or been used for sex?

I considered these stories on twitter mere jokes until people seeking political power, people with some sort of voice got into it with no proof but to ignorantly enjoy the lies just because in a way these ladies are beautiful African women going about their duties.

I doubt any one will say a thing if the said presenter on UTV would have had this buzz around herself if she was called up.

SO TO THESE WOMEN I SALUTE WITH THE VERY POEM MAYA LEFT US:

beccajackyappiah

You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don't you take it awful hard
'Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines
Diggin' in my own back yard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I'll rise.

Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I've got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history's shame
I rise
Up from a past that's rooted in pain
I rise
I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.
