Accra, April 30, GNA- The Trades Union Congress (TUC) on Friday presented a 10-million-cedis cheque and a mobile phone to the Christ Faith Foster Home at Frafraha in the Greater-Accra Region. The presentation formed part of the social responsibility of the TUC as well as its activities marking the celebration of May Day, a day set aside by workers to express their solidarity with the international working class.
Mr Kwasi Adu-Amankwah, Secretary-General of TUC, said the significance of May Day is solidarity and as such, TUC decided to donate to the home as a way of expressing its solidarity with the orphans. He expressed the hope that the donation would solve some of the problems of the home, especially in the area of telephone communication. Madam Victoria Abraham, Supervisor of the home, thanked TUC for the donation, describing it as "timely".
She said the home had faced communication difficulties for a long time and that with the donation, the communication problems would be solved.
Madam Abraham said one other problem confronting the home was lack of continuous water supply, which according to her, affected the domestic needs of the children, and appealed to other philanthropists to come to their aid.

Madam Abraham, May the Lord bless you and your staff and volunteers for all your efforts in carring for these children. I live in New Rochelle, NY and wish to help, however, I have difficulties getting your contact telephone number. I have a box of used clothing and tit-bits ready to ship, and I need a contact number. Do you have a website?
