Accra, April 30, GNA - An Accra Circuit Court on Friday sentenced a 23 year-old Teacher of the French Language, who sexually assaulted a nine-year-old girl and attributed his behaviour to temptation, to two years' imprisonment with hard labour.
The Teacher, Tuassi K. H Valdo pleaded guilty to the charge of indecent assault. The Court chaired by Mr Kwadwo Owusu, therefore, convicted him on his own plea.
Police Chief Inspector Emmanuel T. Boison told the Court that on April 26 the victim was in the house when her mother detected sudden changes in the way she was walking.
During an enquiry, the victim disclosed that before the Easter Holiday Valdo, her French Teacher invited her to a classroom and inserted his fingers into her genitals.
The Prosecution said when the victims was sent to the hospital, it was detected that her vaginal wall and intrauterine were inflamed with tenderness.
Valdo was arrested and he admitted the offence but attributed his action to the Devil's temptation.
