11.04.2014 LISTEN

Ghana Institute of Governance and Security wishes to congratulate the New Patriotic Party for the well advanced preparations towards its National Delegates Congress to be held at Tamale from 12th to 13th April, 2014.

The Institute wishes to indicate that such democratic process of selecting leaders as practiced by all political parties in Ghana is an essential element for strengthening and consolidating the democratic process of Ghana

To that end, the Institute wishes to admonish all aspirants to display the spirit of sportsmanship and put up their best so that the party would come out united after the congress.

Delegates are also advised to be guided by the spirit of prudence, vigilance and patriotism in their election of leaders for the party. They should endeavor to elect people with the fundamental qualities of leadership such as respect, honesty, trust and dedication to serve their party, Ghana and humanity.

The Institute is further appealing to all delegates, aspirants and party members, and sympathizers to make security their core priority as they participate in the delegates' congress to sustain the peace that the country is currently enjoying.

Particularly, we wish to caution all parties to desist from using insinuations or utterances that can reinvigorate the tribal tension in the region. We are also calling on the security agencies to be on high alert to prevent any act that can degenerate into violence and insecurity in the region.

Ghana Institute of Governance and Security wishes the party, aspirants, delegates and the entire party members the best in the national delegates' congress.
