The General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has won a defamation suit he brought against the Daily Guide newspaper.
A Fast-Ttrack High Court in Accra Thursday awarded him damages to the tune of 250 thousand Ghana cedis and a cost of 15,000 Ghana cedis.
The case had been running for three years now.
It was in respect of a story which alleged that Mr. Asiedu Nketia used his position as chairman of the Bui Power Authority to divert building materials for his personal building project.
The NDC scribe denied the story and proceeded to court to clear his name.
After Thursday's ruling, Mr Asiedu Nketia told JoyNews he has been vindicated.
