The death is announced of Mr. Edward K. Ansong, a long time resident of East Orange New Jersey. The affable Edward Ansong died December 15 at the East Orange Hospital after a short illness.

He was 67. Mr. Ansong was one time a staunch member of Kwahuman Association, New York and a founding member of Kwahuman Association, New Jersey, where he became its first Vice President. He was also a member of Brong Ahafo Association of New Jersey and the First Presbyterian Church of Irvington, New Jersey.

He is remembered by most as the man who brought the erstwhile Sweet Talks Band on an extensive tour in the U.S. when the group was the most sought-after band in Ghana and among Ghanaian diasporean communities.

He was also involved in other entertainment promotions in the tri state and beyond. Mr. Ansong ran a transportation -limousine -service business and later went into the housing/construction business. Prior to his emigration to the U.S. in 1969, he was a textile designer in Ghana.

That profession brought him to the U.S. He helped several of his siblings and family to relocate to the U.S. Mr. Edward Ansong was a product of Nungua Secondary School where he met and later married his wife. He left behind a wife, two adult children, six siblings and a shocked community.
