Never Try Suicide. Devil's Trick For More People To Worry In Hell

Before I comment on the hellish implications of suicidal acts, including those of Dr. Yankah, a urologist, and a boy of New Takoradi which was reported yesterday, let me first make an analogy by casting your mind back to the elementary school days.

Your class teacher came to meet you and two others talking more loudly, when others too were busy talking! He singled out the three of you as having broken the silence rule, and called you to stand in front of the class so to go to clear a weedy portion of the school compound. Would your mind be at peace when about 30 out of the 43 students who were believably talking were not picked by the teacher?

But the class prefect intervened to mention the names of those talkers (wrong to say 'talkatives', there is no such English word), and he mentioned 32 names! Wouldn't your heart quickly jump with joy for getting more talkative students to join you for the weeding punishment? And wouldn't you feel happier if more of the remaining 'silent' students could even be mentioned to be culprits to join you in the weeding ordeal? The psychology here is that the more the 'sinners' or 'culprits', the lesser the pains felt in the palms or the hands would be, and the more elated and 'comfortable' all the weeding students would be!

This is an exact analogy that can be given to the present operations of the devil who wants more crowd or more people to join him to suffer the degradations and deprivations and distresses and all types of worries he is facing with his companions in hell, so that conceptually the intensity of his punishment from God can lessen, and that the presence of more crowd might give him some comfort.

And who doesn't like comfort? Do you think the devil or Satan and his companions are always fools?? So they are seriously working to get more people to break God's commandments and teachings so they can be joined in hell as a thickening crowd, suffering together in joy! Hence they are deceiving people to go and steal, commit adultery, do armed robbery, rape, practise homosexuality, fornicate, litigate, pour libation to gods, murder and self-murder (commit suicide) etc.

All these types of crime or sinful deeds and many others break the laws of God, and therefore send people straight to hell, unless those who commit them repent and strongly resolve not to do them any longer. Suicide for instance is self-murder, the act of killing oneself. It derives from the Latin word 'suicida', with 'sui' meaning 'self' and 'cida' act of killing. The Latin origin of the word 'suicide' shows the ancientness of its existence, and thus demonstrating how the devil has used this method in drawing some souls to his side in hell , since he knows it is a tricky sin that can be committed with the simple words:  ' Oh kill yourself to end all troubles and worries.' But of course, spiritually, suicide brings in its trail more troubles and worries to the personal soul of the one who committed it and has landed his soul in hell because he has infringed upon God's commandment: 'Thou shall not murder' (Exodus 20:13). And St. John writing in the power of the Holy Spirit explicitly says: 'And you know that no murderer has hopes of eternal life in him' (1John 3:15).  'Eternal life' means 'life in heaven; and anyone who has no 'eternal life' cannot go to heaven.

Oppositely, he will go to hell, because that place is the only alternative.

The devil knows this fact very well. He knows that killing oneself or committing suicide, which is an act of murder will land that self-murderer to hell, hence his constant suggestions to a worried person to kill himself and leave the worries behind, whereas he the devil knows that the culprit is going to face more worries and distressing troubles in hell after his death! It is in this context that the recent suicide committed by Dr. Hayford De-Graft Yankah, a 55 year old urologist (see Daily Graphic, July 8, 2008) on the proviso that 'he had failed to reconcile with life' possibly due to some seemingly irreconcilable misunderstanding between him and his wife (Daily Guide, July 9, 2008 page 3) raises a lot of concern within the fold of the clergy. It is most unfortunate Dr. Yankah could not approach any reverend minister to lay before him his problems which could have been solved for him.

On the face of it, Dr. Yankah's suicide was a result of a psychological problem. And most clinical psychologists might estimate it to be so; in fact, most of such acts of suicide are assessed to be more psychological than anything else. They are not wrong, even though a deeper insight by most of us spiritual pastors see Dr. Yankah's suicide to have had a spiritual genesis. What the world must know is that everything that happens in this world and everything that involves the action of human beings is done or accomplished spiritually before it happens psychologically or physically. Those of us who have been doing long fastings and have had our spiritual sights opened by the Lord, know this as a truth. Yes, what happen in the psychological or physical world are certainly influenced by what happen in the spiritual world.

But worldly people who don't have this spiritual grace of the Lord can't believe this, as I also didn't believe such things when I was an atheist and very worldly some years ago. But believe me; suicide is caused by some spiritual forces or entities, before the idea comes to the mind to be finally enacted physically.

Usually, the mind is the centre-stage of decision-taking. When the spiritual impingement is very forceful, trying to push the victim to take his life to end it all, the mental decision becomes final and he does it. Before the suicide performs his action of taking his life away, he exhibits some strange psychological traits such as becoming melancholic or morbid, showing incessant anxieties or worries, withdrawing from society and becoming aloof etc.

At long last, the suicide victim yields to the stronger spiritual pressure and kills himself by any method, such as hanging himself, falling from the top of a high building, drowning himself, taking poison, shooting himself etc.

Generally, there are four spiritual factors that can influence the worried Victim to 'end it all' These are: (i).The operations of some witchcraft (ii). The workings of a juju spell cast against him (iii).Curses made against him before a god or some evil spirits and      (iv) Some occult spirits misinvoked by the victim himself or invoked by another person to inflict such punishment of suicide on the victim. All these spiritual variants approach the mind of the victim to continuously suggest to him to commit suicide. An example of this can be seen in Matthew 4:5-7 when Satan boldly went to Jesus to suggest to him to 'throw himself down' from the highest point of the temple, thus trying to tempt Christ to commit suicide by jumping down at his own peril. But Jesus dismissed such a suicide suggestion. Ordinary men can't see evil forces, especially witches, continually suggesting to them, so they yield to such suicide ideas foisted upon their souls' mind.

The best ways of combating all thoughts about suicide are, one, the worried person must begin to pray to Jesus for salvation. He can use Psalm 7, Psalm 71 and Psalm 91, or recite Psalm 22 (7 times) during the early morning or dawn hours of 1.00 am and 3.00 am, at least for one full week. The Psalms are more powerful prayers because they are already blessed or sanctioned by the Holy Spirit, and so repeating them with simple faith works wonders. But the worried person can add his own prayers, telling the Lord what is worrying Him and asking him what to do for him.

Additionally, he can repeat Psalm 134 to bless a bottle of olive oil and anoint himself with it (James 5:14-16) before each night prayers. Two, he can fast for seven days and pray fervently in the midnight, and he will overcome his worries or Satan's suggestions. Or, three, he should see a clinical psychologist, or more preferably, a powerful pastor for some saving discussions. The worried person should remember that if he doesn't go to Jesus for sure salvation, and only allow himself to be deceived by the devil into causing suicide, he will go to hell, and suffer more beatings and cruelties and ceaseless attacks of the devils servants. After all, who doesn't like to be saved? So, never, ever try suicide!
