The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) Limited has explained that its salary regime is prudently managed to ensure that the health of the company and its services to the public are not undermined.
It, therefore, denies reports making the rounds that the management of the company has arrogated to itself and the staff salaries that could threaten the future of the company.
A statement issued by the ECG in Accra, therefore, denied reports about the salaries of the staff of the company which had been thrown out in the public domain.
The statement said the figures quoted by some media outlets on the supposed salaries and allowances of the management and staff of the company were false and inaccurate.
In a press release, the Management of ECG stated that figures reported in some media outlets were incorrect, hence they could be verified from statutory bodies.
'The company wishes to add that emoluments of different employees are negotiated with the Ghana Trades Union (TUC), and it is industry-specific,' the statement said.
The statement explained that once a limited liability company owned by the government, its activities were regulated and supervised by a higher authority.
