
Sunyani, May 21, GNA - A Berekum Circuit Court has ordered the police to send Shadrack Kusi, 36, to a psychiatric hospital for medical examination on the state of his mind.
Kusi is alleged to have killed a 60-year-old woman, Madam Akua Fosuah with a cutlass at Kota near Berekum.
His plea was not taken.
Chief Superintendent of Police, Peter Baba, Brong-Ahafo Regional Crime Officer told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani that Kusi and the complainant Madam Patricia Gyabaah stayed in the same area at Kota.
He said during the morning of Thursday, April 25, Madam Gyabaah observed that one of her goats was missing and suspected the accused for stealing it.
Chief Superintendent Baba said Madam Gyabaah together with her mother-in-law, then went searching for the goat and saw the accused in his house roasting the head of a goat and asked about her missing goat.
He said the accused became infuriated and took a cutlass and inflicted several wounds on the deceased.
Chief Superintendent Baba said the deceased was rushed to the Berekum Holy Family Hospital where she died later and the accused was arrested and after investigations charged with the offence.
