Accra, Dec.17, GNA - President John Agyekum Kufuor on Wednesday commended the Transitional Government in Cote D'Ivoire for appointing Mr Rene Amany as the Defence Minister.
He said the appointment was one of the critical issues in the scheme of affairs for the transitional government in implementing the Marcoussis Accord.
President Kufuor made the commendation when Mr Amany paid a courtesy call on him at the Castle, Osu.
He said: "I hope you will hold the office with the sole interest of the nation at heart".
Mr Amany expressed appreciation to President Kufuor in his efforts to restore peace and stability in Cote D'Ivoire.
