Tonaton.com, a new module of free classified advertising, has made its debut in country.
As a replication of a marketing strategy already operational elsewhere in the world, it has shown signs of massive innovations that could set it apart from others in town.
Tonaton is an Akan expression encapsulating what the concept is all about-buy and sell.
Movers of Tonaton.com last Monday paid a courtesy call on management of Western Publications Limited, publishers of Daily Guide and other publications.
The hearty discussions between Nils Hammar, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Babak Tighnavard, Head of Marketing, Kwabena Opoku-Boakye, Marketing Manager, revolved around the collaboration between the two brands.
There is no denying the fact that tonaton.com is set to give competitors a good run for their money on the market through innovations hitherto not available on the local market.
Mr. Nils Hammar said tonaton.com pitched camp in Ghana because of the country's prospects, her cheapness to the 3 G facility and fast growing economy.
All our advertisements go through screening on a professional site manned by 15 programmers in Sweden, the CEO said.
'You only need an email, it is open to all.'
Such a procedure isolates stuff which should not reach the public domain to uphold ethics.
From mobile phones to landed property tonaton.com, CITY & BUSINESS GUIDE learnt, would provide an appropriate platform for fantastic transactions that customers would appreciate.
'We hope to be a strong brand in the country,' one of the guests told the paper in no uncertain terms. 'We seek leadership on the market.'
The concept is to link buyers and sellers on a common platform.
The confidence level of Tonaton.com could not have received a better boost than from Kwame Blay.
He assured them of good business in the country and the readiness of Western Publications Limited for the collaboration they seek.
During the launch of the service in Accra after the visit, Nils Hammar said the online platform in Ghana is aimed at providing a credible website for buyers and sellers to interact.
He added that the website can be best described as an easy-to-use, free classified website where an individual can buy and sell a wide range of items which is safe and fast-buying to customers.
He explained that users are required to submit a valid email address to upload an advert on the website which will be displayed within four hours.
'As internet usages increases in schools, homes, and among mobile users, we, at Tonaton.com, see an opportunity to introduce something different interesting and beyond traditional classified advertising to Ghanaians. Our interface is easy-to-use and convenient for both sellers and buyers,' Mr. Hammar said.
