Health Minister moves to solve problems facing LEKMA Hospital

Accra, Feb.1, GNA - Mr Alban Bagbin, Out-going Minister of Health has met with members of Teshie Concerned Citizens Association (TCCA) over the numerous problems they listed at Ledzorkuku Municipal Assembly (LEKMA) Hospital in Accra.

The Association expressed concern about inadequate doctors and senior nurses at the hospital, lack of good and convenient toilet facilities, bad road network, unavailability of mosquito nets, inappropriate mortuary facility as well as water and electricity supply.

They also mentioned lack of transportation and accommodation for nurses and insecurity in and around the hospital.

Present at the meeting was Dr Ebenezer Appiah Denkyira, Director General of Ghana Health Service and Dr Lind Vanotoo and Greater Accra Regional Director of Ghana Health Service.

A statement signed by Mr Seth A. Tagoe, Chairman of TCCA on Thursday and copied to the Ghana News Agency welcomed the promise by the Minister that some of the issues raised would be tackled immediately.

The Association promised to heed to the advice of Mr Bagbin to collaborate with the Ministry of Health with the hope that it would fulfill the promise of helping to solve the problems facing LEKMA Hospital.
