By David Zamana

The NDC Chairman of the Bunkpurugu Constituency, Mr. John Yennukwa Champion, has condemned reports from a Daily Guide reporter in Tamale saying that, he is not a lobbyist and would never be one.

According to him, Daily Guide reporter in Tamale, Mr. Stephen Zoure had published a story on page 10 of its Friday 18th January 2013 edition, stating that, he Chairman had travelled to Accra with a Team of party members to lobby for Dr Benson Boikon Konlan, who is currently a senior lecturer at the University for Development Studies (UDS) Tamale campus to become the next Northern regional Minister, with other allegations in the reports.

The NDC Chairman made a copy of a rejoinder (Press statement) to the Daily Democrat news paper. In the statement, he accused daily guide (Tamale Reporter) of not treating the entire people of the Bunkpurugu/Yunyoo District well since most of the publications he report about are not of good content.

He mentioned that, the story which the reporter captioned NDC SHARPLY DIVIDED OVER APPOINTMENTS is never true and that, as far as he knows the NDC is still united as it has always been and would continue to be so in the next coming years.

Mr. John alleged that, the story carried by the reporter is a manipulative and faceless politician who wants to cause mischief. He said Daily Guide should not allow itself for politicians to hide behind and give unfounded and selfish information's like this in your medium.

The entire content as reported by daily guide is absolutely false and I believe it was planted by some mysterious individuals who are hell bent on dividing and destroying the Unity currently in place in the NDC party in the Bunkpurugu constituency, this he noted is mischievous in nature.

He said "this wicked and desperate orchestration even transcend deeper as personalities like the Regional Secretary to the NDC Party is allegedly quoted in the article to have raised some concerns on the subject matter to your reporter as if to put the icing on your story.”

He added that, the picture of the Honorable Regional Chairman of the NDC Party Mr. Sofo Azorka was juxtaposed to the story without any related comments thereof.

"How unfair it is to treat a citizen this way?" he asked.

He further made reference to the article in the Daily Guide that, he had a meeting with the NDC General Secretary, Mr. Asiedu Nkatia, which was normal because each of them as constituency Chair persons were supposed to meet their Bosses before and after the elections.

"I believe that, I m not the only Chairman who has done so in the aftermath of the 2012 general elections," John Yennukwa added.

He further tasked Daily Guide to avail itself to the facts about the Bunkpurugu Constituency and its related issues instead of allowing disingenuous politicians to cannibalize other politicians in the pages of its esteem news paper.

He also registered his displeasure to the fact that the Daily Guide reporter from Tamale never looked for his response before even going to press.
