Christians urged to renew their faith by referring to the word of God

Atimatim (Ash), Aug 30, GNA – Pastor Benjamin Appiah, Old Tafo District Pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church, has appealed to Christians to constantly renew their faith in the Almighty God by reading the scriptures.

Pastor Appiah said it was only the word of God that can bring about the needed revival in individuals and every Christian institution.

The District Pastor was speaking in an exclusive interview with the Ghana News Agency at the 2012 Annual Camp Meeting of the Old Tafo District of the Central Ghana Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Ghana held at Atimatim in the Afigya-Kwabre District of the Ashanti Region.

Speaking on the theme for the occasion: “Revived by His Word”, (Isaiah 55: 1-6/SDAH 272, 286), Pastor Appiah said that it was only the word of God that can guide mankind to a fruitful, successful and peaceful life here on earth, and make Christians worthy ambassadors of Christ.

He explained that revival has three dimensions; improvement in the individual's relation with God the Creator, his relation with others and improvement in relation with oneself – and these are very essential elements for personal, community and national growth and development.

Pastor Appiah urged Christians to have time for the word of God in order to revive their attitudes in every area of life so as to impact positively on society and win more souls for Christ.

“Use the scriptures to revive and transform your lives so that you can be worthy ambassadors of goodwill and peace in your communities, the nation and the world at large,” the man of God stressed.

The weeklong annual camp meeting brought together about 5,000 participants from the 10 churches of the Old Tafo District namely: Old Tafo, Atimatim, Medoma, Chairman, Taabuo, Pataase, Maase, Medoma North, Aboabogya and Medoma South.

Other speakers at the programme included Pastor A.A. Boateng, Pastor E.O. Kegya, Pastor Rockson Amoah, Pastor I.K. Konadu, Pastor P.M. Djikunu and Elder C.K. Ampedu.
