Takrowase, Aug 30, GNA - Takrowase Catholic Primary School is to benefit from a six-unit classroom block to replace the dilapidated one being used at the moment.
Mr Baba Jamal, Deputy Minister of Tourism, has broken the grounds for works to start on the GHC 277,306 GET-FUND project, which will have a library, computer laboratory, staff common room and place of convenience.
Mr Baba Jamal noted that it was through education that any nation could progress, but if a child studied in a bad environment, not much could be achieved.
He commended the Catholic Church for its extensive network of schools that had provided education and enlightenment to millions of people throughout the ages, adding that he himself received his education from kindergarten through Senior High School in Catholic schools.
He said Takrowase, the fourth largest town in the newly created Denkyembuo District, would receive its fair share of development.
The Meputy Minister thanked the people for voting for him in the three previous parliamentary elections.
Mr Jamal said with the split of Denkyembuo District from Kwaebibirem District, development would be hastened and asked the people to unite and work for progress.
Touching on the upcoming elections, he said the electorate in the constituency should maintain the peace by ensuring that there were no violent incidents during the elections.
Mr Reginald Osae, Kwaebibirem District Chief Executive, who is also presently overseeing the Denkyembuo District, said the government would not discriminate in the provision of development projects by giving priority to areas that supported it.
He announced that one of the government's priorities is human resource management by providing school blocks and improving the quality of education.
Of the 66 projects initiated in the Kwaebibirem District, more than half of them were school blocks.
