As part of this year's Idil-Fitr celebration, the Muslim Youth in the Ho Municipality have put together a 2 day sports festival dubbed “Ramafest”. The theme for this year's celebration is “ENHANCING PEACE BUILDING IN ISLAM, THE ROLE OF THE ZONGO YOUTHS”.
The activities will begin from the 18th - 20th of August 2012 and will be held at the Ho Police Depot Park. Events lined up for the celebration includes Football Matches, Tug of war (Lafia), Health Talk, Pageant show and a Health Walk. The Zongo community will be join by other teams like Anagokodzi stars, GBC/Volta Star Radio, Ghana Police,66 Artillery,Christian religious churches and other keep fit clubs in Ho. The organizing chairman of the event, Alhaji Sulemana Amadu said the games will not only serve as a source of entertainment but will bring cohesion between the Zongo community and their Christian counterparts.
He therefore edged all Zongo Youths and the populace to come and celebrate with them because in unity they shall stand strong. The Health Walk will come off on the 20th of August 2012 at 6.00am and will start from the Old Zongo through Ho Dome to Housing Street and back to the Police Depot Park. The participants will later be addressed by the Regional Chief Imam Alhaji Danjuma Hamza and Henry Ford Kamal the Volta Regional Minister. In all over 500 participants are expected to grease the occasion.
