Kumasi, July 30, GNA - The leadership of three political parties in the Ashanti Region on Monday signed a book of condolence opened at the Regional Coordinating Council for the late Professor John Evans Atta Mills.
These are the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Convention People's Party (CPP) and the United Front Party (UFP).
Mr Samuel Pyne, the Regional Secretary of the NPP, signed for his party, with Mr Ashford Samuel Osei-Yaw and Mr Kwaku Owusu Antwi, Chairmen of the CPP and the UFP, signing for their respective parties.
They conveyed their condolences to the First Lady, Mrs Ernestina Naadu Mills, the government and family of the late President.
Dr Kwaku Agyemang-Mensah, the Regional Minister, described as heartwarming the political maturity, unity and outpouring of grief by all Ghanaians.
“This was a powerful signal about the growth of the country's democracy,' he said.
He was confident that the people would continue to stand together to give the late President a fitting funeral for his priceless service to the nation.
Mr Osei-Yaw said although the President's demise was bad news for everybody, the consolation was that, he died while still serving “mother Ghana.
