Cape Coast, July 24, GNA – A Cape Coast circuit court, has remanded a 26-year– old mason into prison custody for allegedly defiling his 15-year–old daughter.
Bismark Annan, who pleaded not guilty, would reappear before court on September 20.
Inspector Christina Sampong told the court presided over by Mrs. Florence Kai Otu that the accused and the complainant Madam Mary Atobrah and their daughter lived in the same house at Jukwa Krobo.
The prosecution said Annan rented a new apartment in the same vicinity and moved in with his daughter because their old apartment could no longer accommodate the three of them.
Police Inspector Sampong said in May, Annan sneaked into the victim's room at night and allegedly defiled her and warned her not to tell anyone about it.
The prosecution said the sexual abuse went on until the victim visited her mother and met a lawyer, Ms Stella Mensah, and told her that her (victim) father had sexual intercourse with her.
Insp. Sampong said Ms Mensah informed the victim's mother about the situation, and she (mother) reported the matter to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit in Cape Coast.
