
Accra, July 18, GNA- President John Evans Atta Mills on Wednesday inaugurated one of the 72 three storey 18-unit classroom blocks being put up at the Salvation Army Cluster of School at Laterbiorkorshie in Accra.
The Accra Metropolitan Authority (AMA), in collaboration with the Ghana Education Trust Fund and the United States Agency for International Development are constructing the structure under the Millennium City School Project to support teaching and learning after Government abolished the shift system in 2010.
With an applause, music and ecstasy, teachers, pupils expressed appreciation to Government for the provision of the facility.
Schools under the Millennium School Project are equipped with an Information and Communication Technology unit, a library, sanitary facilities and teachers' restrooms.
President Mills asked both teachers and the pupils to make maximum use of the facility.
Mr Lee Ocran, Minister for Education, said Government would deliver 50,000 laptop computers to teachers before the end of the year as part of the human resource development programme.
