Training of trainers workshop for radio broadcasters ends in Accra

Accra, June 30, GNA – A two-week training of trainers' workshop for broadcasters in agriculture on climate change adaptation ended in Accra at the weekend.

The workshop organised by Farm Radio International was sponsored by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and German Technical Cooperation.

It attracted participants from community and commercial radio stations in Accra, Somanya, Techiman and Bolgatanga.

They were taken through analysis of voice standards, which is a technique dealing with how presenters should enhance their production, radio interview, etiquette of radio interview and how radio stories should be focused.

The workshop also took participants through focus statements, logging of radio materials after production, planning an in –station training and how to improve relationship between presenters and producers.

Mr David Mowbray, General Manager for Training and Standards, Farm Radio International Canada, expressed satisfaction about the output of participants at the workshop.

He appealed to the local radio stations to use the voice standard to improve upon the quality of their programmes.
