NPP cannot Win election 2012 on Silver Platter but through Hard work
6/25/2012 1:10:47 AM -
I will strongly admonish my fellow NPP members, activists and sympathisers to see election 2012 as an uphill battle. Uphill battles are fought and conquered through dedication to duty and course of action, determination and the use of appropriate tools. They are not won through mere lip service, bad-mouthing and exhibition of other non practical efforts.
This is our year to wrestle power from the NDC. It will not come that easy as contrarily believed by some of us. It will entail a lot of hard practical work. I am not a pessimist as may wrongly be assumed by some of my own NPP brothers and sisters when they read my factual admonitions or suggestions. I would neither want to be a deceiving optimist but a realist.
We have to chase the precious winning votes wherever they are. We have to take the good message from Nana Akuffo-Addo Danquah to the people in their towns, villages and huts. We should not rely solely on disseminating our messages over the radios or accusing and counter-accusing the NDC on air as enough to dealing the deadly blow to the NDC. The assuring attendance of audience and spectators to our urban rallies does not in any way translate into winning votes for NPP and Nana Akuffo-Addo. We have to get this point clear. The NDC as sly as the fox are to be watched closely and their crafty ploys monitored with all the attention it requires.
As they maliciously engage us on air and in the print media, they are also secretly actively out on the ground to the villages maligning Nana Akuffo-Addo and the NPP to the villagers with the intention of capturing their votes. Am I then wrong to suggest we face them squarely on the ground where the needed winning votes are? We should be with them wherever they happen to be to dilute their falsehoods by preaching Nana's good tidings to the prospective electorates.
The NDC in connivance with the Electoral Commissioner, Dr Afari-Gyan, have already placed themselves a step ahead of the NPP about winning majority seats in Parliament at Election December 7, 2012. To know more about this, please refer to my article captioned 'Is the Creation of the 45 New Constituencies by Dr Afari Gyan very Dubious?', published on Modernghana.com and Ghanaweb on Saturday 23rd June 2012 and Sunday 24th June 2012 respectively. We have to challenge the Electoral Commissioner in the Law Courts as his intention is shrouded in dubiety.
How do we release some mentally imprisoned minds from their mental incarceration if we do not hold one to one talk with them? Read the following true story and decide how best we can approach it as serious NPP followers resolutely determined to wrestle power from the corrupt, incompetent and lawless NDC government and party, as we are. My cousin, Sam, returned from Ghana recently to narrate to me a serious conversation he held with his late uncle's (name withheld) sons over the impending December 7, 2012 elections. They frequent the Kumawu Saviour Church (Gyidi K3k33) that has its Headquarters in Oseam in the Eastern Region. I think their current Spiritual International head is Mr. Adusei, once a tutor at Kumawu Tweneboah Kodua Secondary School in the late 1960s to late 1970s or early 1980s. They emphatically insisted they are going to vote NDC at elections 2012 because President Mills is a God-fearing man. They argued President Mills is quiet, you hardly see him talk so they will vote for him. They want a calm 'Nyame suro ni' to be at the helm of affairs in Ghana hence their forward ever resolution to vote President Mills and the NDC, they said. No amount of persuasions, intelligent reasons offered or argument could get them off that high horse of deceitful assumptions they uphold about President Mills.
The fact that one is calm does not necessarily make him or her God-fearing person; I would please like Mr Adusei to get this message across to the entirety of the members of the Saviour Church. I was once a member of the church so I understand the collective mentality of the members. They often follow decisions taken by their Spiritual head without bothering to put them to scrutiny. They do not relate the decisions to their individual circumstances once such decisions have been pronounced by their leader. It is only by door to door contact and possibly contacting such Spiritual heads that we can persuade people of the mentality just described above to vote for Nana Akuffo-Addo and the NPP.
I will advise my fellow NPP sympathisers and members not to be delusional. We should not assume we have already won the elections because of the internal squabbles within the NDC and their numerously revealed instances of stinking corruption, incompetence and lawlessness. We still have to work harder as nothing comes cheap in Ghana. Every passing day has their own surprises so we should not sleep on the oars until victory is resoundingly won for Nana Akuffo-Addo and the NPP.
All NPP serial callers must as well inform their listeners to visit others with the good tidings Nana Akuffo-Addo has for the suffering Ghanaian masses in attempt to win their hearts, minds, souls and votes. Staying on the radio alone is not enough and will never be enough to garner the needed winning votes for Nana Akuffo-Addo and the NPP. No more complacency, I must stress!
I salute the Rawlingses with FONKAR for coming out with nothing but the truth about the hopelessness of the current NDC administration. More grease to their elbows.
