Juaso (A/R), May 10, GNA - Dr Aaron Ofei, Ashanti Regional Director, Ghana Health Services, has inaugurated a nine-member Advisory Committee of the Juaso District Hospital with a call on the members to mobilize resources to enhance the quality of care for patients.
The Committee should be development-oriented and work closely with the management to initiate programmes to improve service delivery.
He said it needs to help strengthen the community's involvement in the efficient running of the facility.
In doing this, the members should be mindful of the fact that their role is purely advisory and resist the temptation to overstep their mandate.
Dr Ofei said he is confident that the establishment of the committee would give the community a sense of ownership and provide impetus to the growth of the hospital.
It is made up of representatives of various interest groups and staff of the hospital.
Mr Danso Yeboah, the District Director of Health Services, said the committee would allow the hospital's management to reach out to the communities more effectively as major stakeholders.
He urged the members to become as an effective link between the facility and the public by making sure that there is free flow of information among all stakeholders.
Mr Tom Ampomah Ababio, Chairman of the Committee, pledged to work hard to help transform the hospital.
