The National Women Wing of the Lord's Pentecostal Church International (TLPC), has donated assorted items to the.
Items donated includes used clothing ,assorted detergents ,cooking oil, assorted drinks ,bags of maize ,rice, beans ,groundnuts, tins of milk ,assorted biscuits and towels valued at GH¢4,000 cedis .
Mrs. Grace Ankrah, National Women Coordinator, presenting the item on behalf of the women, said as part of it corporate social responsibility to the community, the church was touched to come to the rescue of the home after an appeal was made by the home.
“The gesture was in fulfillment of our mission towards our fifty anniversary celebration to provide for the needy, physically challenged and marginalized in society by giving them comfort and a sense of belonging “she said.
Mrs. Felicia Ashirifi Mensah, Nursing Officer of the Psychiatric hospital who received the items on behalf of the inmates, expressed gratitude to the benefactors for having thought of the wellbeing of inmates of the hospital.
She acknowledged the immense contributions of Women and TLPC towards the upkeep of the home over the years and commended them for its public spiritedness.
Mrs. Asirifi Mensah assured the women that the donation would be used for the best interest of the inmates and appealed to other corporate organizations, NGOs and well-meaning individuals to emulate the church by supporting the home either in cash or in kind.
She said socio-economic conditions of the inmates including abandoned inmate were not good, and called for interventions from public-spirited individuals and groups.
