Kuntanase April 26, GNA - The Bosomtwe District Health Management Team (DHMT) has distributed 58,600 insecticide treated nets (ITN) to the people in all 63 communities in the area.
This is part of the drive to help roll back malaria, the commonly reported disease at the Out-Patients Department (OPD) of the country's health facilities.
It is one of the initiatives of the National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP) with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Mr Bernard Bediako Badu, a Pharmacist at the Kuntanase Government Hospital, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that 2,269 of the nets were given to pregnant women, with children under the age of five years, receiving a total of 8,744.
He commended the community volunteers and other health personnel who did the distribution for dedication and commitment.
