Anti graft campaigner Ghana Integrity Initiative is demanding the immediate resignation of CHRAJ boss Lauretta Lamptey from the board of the Ghana Commercial Bank.
Madam Lamptey has come under criticism from lawyers who accuse her of breaching article 222 of the constitution, which prohibits a commissioner from occupying any other public office.
She has defended her continued hold on both jobs but Advocacy group Centre for National Affairs, has given the CHRAJ boss unto close of Tuesday to relinquish one of her positions or face court action.
Meanwhile Ghana Integrity Initiative has added its voice to the call. Executive Secretary, Vitus Azeem, speaking on Joy FM's Super Morning Show Tuesday stated Madam Lamptey's resignation is long overdue.
He said the constitution is very clear on the matter, saying: “that article 71 position has certain conditions which one of them is for her not to hold a public office.”
