81 years old
May 26, 1931 – April 15, 2012
Ebusuapanyin Isaac Mensah of the Royal Anona Clan of Elmina, announces with grateful thanks to the Glory of God the passing of the Andrews family matriarch,

MRS. CHRISTIANA ARABA SARKOA ULZEN
(née Andrews) popularly known as “Madame”
She was called peacefully into the arms of the Lord at Takoradi on April 15, 2012.

Mrs. Ulzen was a long time educator. At various points of her career she taught at Sekondi, Kumasi, Wa, Bolgatanga, Accra and Takoradi and retired from the Ghana Education Service as a Superintendent of Schools, serving in Sekondi and Assin Fosu.

Mrs. Ulzen is survived by her children, Prof. Thaddeus P. M. Ulzen (U.S.A.), Ms. Naa Ammakuma Ulzen (Ghana), Mr. Edward Stephen Ulzen (Canada), Dr. (Mrs.) Angelina A. Ulzen-Chela (South Africa), and Mrs. Patricia Y. Ulzen-Asenso (U.S.A.); brothers, Messrs. Anthony K. N. Clement (Takoradi) and Francis Ato Clement (Tarkwa); 6 grandchildren (U.S.A., South Africa & France), and several cousins, nieces and nephews of the Andrews, Clement and allied families.

She will be remembered for her strict, unyielding standards of excellence as an innovative educator whose many students serve in various leadership roles in Ghana and across the world. Final arrangements will be announced shortly.
