Odupong-Ofaankor, (C/R) April 7, GNA – Jei-River Farms, a private pineapple production and exporting company in the Awutu-Senya District, is constructing a GH¢ 40,000 library complex for the people of Odupong-Ofaankor.
The Odupong-Ofaankor Traditional Council, custodians of the land on which the company operates, is supplementing the efforts of the company.
Mr David Papa Nii Arhin, Assemblyman for the area, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Odupong-Ofaankor that the project is the company's contribution towards the promotion of basic education in the area.
He expressed the hope that when completed the library complex would encourage reading as a habit in the community.
On behalf of the Traditional Council and the people of Odupong-Ofaankor and the Awutu/Senya District Assembly, Mr Arhin expressed his appreciation to the directors and management of the company for their support and called for more assistance in other areas.
Meanwhile, the Awutu-Senya District Assembly has also constructed 12 classrooms and a library to solve inadequate classroom problems facing basic schools.
