
Tema, March 14, GNA – Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, has donated items to the SOS Children's Village in Tema at a reception to mark his 50th birthday.
The items, worth 15,400 Ghana cedis, consisted of a television set, bed sheets, rice, sugar, milo, Tampico and toilet roll.
Mr. Ampofo who turned 50 on Sunday, March 11, urged well-meaning Ghanaians to donate in their small way to support the vulnerable, disadvantaged and needy in society.
Mr. Isaac Kojo Ackon, Village Director who received the items, thanked the Minister for the donation.
Mr. Ackon said since its establishment on October 10, 1974, the Tema SOS Children's Village has raised 175 young men and women many of whom are currently occupying enviable positions in society.
