Cameroon's President Paul Biya has shown sympathy to victims of the Congo Arms' depot explosion that left at least 200 persons dead, about 1.500 injured and more than 5.000 homeless.

The President on March 7, 2012 sent a huge consignment of assorted food stuff to victims of the blast in neighbouring Congo. A military aircraft transported the food stuff, which included rice, plantains, beans, yams, Irish potatoes, beef, frozen chicken, fish, tomatoes, onion, beef cubes etc, as well as other items such as drugs. A delegation was also sent.

The Delegation, which was made up of 19 medical personnel was headed by the minister of public health, Andre Mama Fouda, was seen off at the Yaounde Nsimalen International Airport at about 15:55 GMT (16:55 in Yaounde) by some three Ministers of State.

Congolese President Denis Sassou Ngueso is a good friend of Biya and both countries share cordial ties, as they are neighbours within the central Africa sub-region.
