The suspicion that his wife is engaging in acts of infidelity, has driven Kofi Abakah, a 30-year-old fisherman at Essasu, near Half Assini, to his “grave”.

Abakah went to the beach where his suspected rival Stephen Sae also called Kwesi Attah plies his trade to beat him and was stabbed by Sae which led to his death on the spot.

The deceased who hailed from Ekumfi Nakwa in the Central Region had been warning his wife (name withheld) not to collect any fish from Sae, another fisherman at Effasu.

The Spectator gathered that, Abakah's suspicion heightened with the rumours of the wife's continued receipt of "gifts of fish" from Sae.

And so on January 21, when the wife returned from the beach and told him that she bought the fish from Sae, Abakah in a fit of fury, fought with her.

Abakah went to the beach that day at 5:00p.m., found Sae mending his net and attempted to hit him in the face.

But, Sae, the police said, blocked the blow and stabbed Abakah resulting in his death, instantly.

The suspect then fled to Manaa in La Cote d'ivoire, but was arrested on January 26, and brought to the Half Assini Police; for interrogation.

Sae is currently in prison custody after appearing before the Half Assini District Court on Monday, January 30 and charged with murder.

“His plea was not taken and he will re-appear on Thursday, March 1”, DSP John F. Dzineku told The Spectator.

The body of Abakah has been deposited at the Half Assini Government Hospital for autopsy.
