Tongo (U/E), Nov.29 GNA- China Gold Ghana Resource Group Company Limited on Monday donated a four-wheel drive vehicle valued at 65,000 dollars to the Talensi-Nabdam District Assembly in the Upper East Region.
The District Assembly in addition is to receive 20 computers and 10 printers from the Mining Company to augment the running of the District.
China Gold Ghana Resource Group Company Limited has under its umbrella the Shaanxi Mining Company Limited which has been prospecting and explorating for two-and-half years in the Talensi-Nabdam District.
It is also providing support to Yenyeya and Pubot-Tabah Groups who hold rights to the Concessions and has engaged about 150 staff most of them being natives from the region.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Company, Mr Wei Xing, presenting the vehicle to the District Chief Executive (DCE), Mrs Vivian Anafo, said his outfit makes social responsibility a core aspect of its activities.
He said that Ghana and China had a very good relationship and said through the activities of the company and many other fruitful ventures would be added to the relationship.
“The Government of China has been encouraging we the private enterprise in China to go into partnerships with African countries to forge accelerated development and that is my Company is into partnership with the Ghana government in mining activities”
He said plans were far advanced to build a Junior High School in the area and to construct more boreholes in the communities around the mining sites.
He said the Company has also concluded discussions with the Ministry of Energy to provide electricity to the mining sites and communities in the district.
Mr Xing said when the mining company becomes fully operational the District Assembly and the communities in the mining sites would benefit more from it.
Mrs Anafo commended the Company for the donation and for employing many indigenes from the area.
She said the district was one of the young and deprived districts in the region, stressing that if the company honoured its promises it could help offset some of the challenges confronting the District.
