Ghana hosts Anglophone Africa launch of UN Human Development Report 2011

The United Nations in Ghana is pleased to inform you of the arrival in Ghana of the United Nations Under-Secretary-General and UNDP Associate Administrator, based in New York, Ms. Rebeca Grynspan from 16-18 November 2011. Ms. Grynspan, who is also former Vice President of Costa Rica, will be joining the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana John Dramani Mahamaand other high-level dignitaries of the United Nations System in Ghana to launch the 2011 Human Development Report.

Ghana has been chosen to host the formal launch of the Report on behalf of Anglophone Africa because of its achievements and commitment to sustainable development.

The UN cordially invites you to cover the official launch of the UN 2011 World Human Development Report on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. at the Accra International Conference Center.

Immediately after the launching, Ms. Grynspan would hold a press briefing at the same venue to throw more light on the significance of the report,on Africa's position in the report and on Ghana's enviable position as a beacon of hope for the continent..
