Dededo marks Golden Jubilee

By GNA

Dededo (V/R), Oct. 30, GNA - Dededo, a farming community near Ho, on Sunday marked the golden jubilee of the settlement with a community church service.

Inhabitants of the community, who were mainly members of the Apostles Revelation Society (ARS), celebrated the event on the theme: “Trust in God for peace and development”, and it was attended by choirs and other branches of the society with singing, prayers and jubilation.

The community was founded by the late “Mawu Fe Ame” C.K. N. Wovenu, guided by “divine directives at various times by God.”

Community Leaders told the GNA that 12 precepts, given to Mawu Fe Ame Wovenu by God, govern the affairs of the inhabitants of the settlement, cleanliness and peaceful coexistence being two of them.

They claimed that it should come as no surprise that the ARS community was one-time declared the cleanest community in the Ho Municipal area.

In a sermon, Apostle Charles K. Attipoe entreated people in the community to remain at peace with each other for accelerated development.

He asked them to be godly as God's chosen people to enjoy His endless blessings.

Togbe Azadagli Dededo I, Chief of the community, charged the people to give thanks to God for His protection and guidance for the past 50 years.

He commended government for providing social amenities to the area and called for action to be expedited on the Dededo Township roads.

Togbe Azadagli was hopeful that the celebration of the 50th Anniversary would foster unity among the people and help mobilize resources for the development of the area.
