
Accra, June 30, GNA – The Ministry of Women and Children's Affairs on Thursday congratulated Professor Elizabeth Ardayfio-Schandorf of the University of Ghana, Legon, for being conferred with the status of “Emerita Professor of Geography and Resource Development” by the University.
She becomes the first Ghanaian woman to be conferred with the distinguished title.
A statement signed by Mrs Adiza Ofori-Adu, Public Relations Officer, said as the first woman to achieve this remarkable feat, the Ministry was congratulating and commending her for her dedicated service and contributions towards academia and scholarship, within and outside Ghana.
“We believe that she would serve as a role model and an epitome of motivation in our continuous efforts at empowering the youth, especially women, to enable them to position themselves as forerunners in their various fields of endeavours,” the Ministry said.
