Stallion Group, a leading conglomerate, has been awarded by the Thailand government.
At a ceremony held at the Thai Government House on June 23, 2011, Prime Minister, Abhisit Vejjajiva handed over the award to Sunil Vaswani – Group Chairman/CEO.
This is the third award for the group in three consecutive years.
The award underlined Stallion's performance as a premium business partner for Thailand by establishing its reputation through quality products/ brands in Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Cameroun, Togo, Senegal, Angola, Egypt, Congo, Europe and the Middle East.
Stallion Group played a major role in preventing food crisis in Africa through large timely imports.
It has established the largest state-of-the-art rice mills in Nigeria and is making similar investments in Ghana.
Receiving the award, Sunil Vaswani said “We are delighted to be accorded this value recognition by the government of Thailand. As large-scale investors in agriculture and automobiles, we naturally view Thailand as a strategic partner and are grateful that Stallion Group has been endowed with this prestigious award.
He added 'we hope to take this relationship with Thailand to much higher levels through other investments'.
