Nana Akua Okyerewa I, Queenmother of Aburi Nsakyi has been re-elected as the Presiding Member for Akwapim South District Assembly.
The District Chief Executive, Mr. Andrew Yaw Nyarko-Adu congratulated Nana Okyerewa on her election at the first ordinary session of the Assembly at Nsawam over the weekend.
Mr. Nyarko-Adu said Nana Okyerewa, who was elected unopposed, had been able to carry the members of the assembly along because of her efforts in mobilizing the people to rehabilitate culverts and drains to stop flood in the district especially at Adoagyiri Zongo by river Densu and other streams.
Addressing the Assembly, Nana Okyerewa called for unity among the Chiefs, Assembly Members and Heads of Departments of the District.
She told those engaged in backbiting and the writing of anonymous letters to stop and rather work for the rapid development of the District.
