Accra, May 20, GNA - Ministry of the Interior on Friday reminded the general public that Wednesday, May 25, which marks African Union (AU) Day is a Statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.
The reminder was contained in a statement issued by the Sector Minister, Dr Benjamin Kunbuor in Accra.
The celebration is in consonance with the AU Declaration adopted at its 12th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government in 2009 to make 2009-2018 the Decade for Youth Development in Africa.
The theme for this year's celebration the Day is "Accelerating Youth Empowerment for Sustainable Development".
